Juan Gris, the band led by William Cano (El Vals de Lucy Smith, Moon Over Soho, Xilofomático), a multi-talented musician highly successful within the national sphere, began their trajectory after launching their first album as one of the most fresh, acclaimed and representative proposals of local indie rock. The album achieved cult status among its public and more than one specialized media platform.
With three years of solid and intense activity, they have created a name for themselves as one of the most active and most widespread bands in the Peruvian capital.
This new release is composed of four powerful tracks. Brillante is an approach to the energetic proposal that the band has been building in recent years, with influences from new Argentine indie rock like Él Mató un Policía Motorizado; and alternative American indie rock bands like Pavement, Nirvana or Built to Spill. His lyrics range from the everyday to the most complex apathy, because everything counts when it comes to transmitting what’s inside of you, when it comes to getting to the soul of your listeners. The musicians of Juan Gris know this and they capture it with that simplicity, where all you can do is walk down the experiential path that destroys you and rebuilds you as time goes on.
The album was recorded by Eddie Plenge, from Dragón Verde Producciones, and mixed and mastered by Carlos Díaz (sound engineer of the last two albums of the emblematic Spanish band, Los Planetas).
